Most of us have heard these words at one time or other and they may mean different things to different people. For most of us, it simply means to slow down. Quit the strain and struggle of trying to do everything by our selves, our way. We usually want things to happen immediately and expect miracles to happen according to our personal timetable. After all, are we not connected to our Higher Power (God) and being guided? We should be able to accomplish great things constantly.
Remembering the words "easy does it" is to humbly realize that we are not all-powerful and that God does not expect us to be all things to all people. Growth is sometimes quite slow.....time belongs to God, and change will occur according to His plan. If we just concentrate on our jobs for today, our Higher Power will take care of tomorrow.
Life would be so much more agreeable if we did not overextend ourselves and admit that we do not need to control. Divine guidance really knows best for us and we can trust that truth. We don't have to shirk our share and we do not have to try to carry the whole load.
